Description

Description

Two Pack Epoxy Zinc Rich Primer provides superior adhesion and delivers a durable, hard-wearing coating with excellent chemical resistance and anti-corrosion properties. This high-performance primer is designed for use on both metal and fibreglass surfaces, making it versatile for a range of applications. Ideal for extremely harsh environments, such as marine areas, water-exposed surfaces, and coastal regions, it offers the highest level of anti-corrosion protection.

This sacrificial zinc-rich primer requires a top coat for maximum performance and is perfect for ensuring long-term protection in environments prone to rust, moisture, and saltwater exposure.

Important Notice:

Do not apply two pack epoxy paint in temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, as the cross-linking of the paint and catalyst will not occur, preventing the coating from fully drying.

Application

Application

Painting Bare Metal or Fibreglass:

Step 1 - Prep: Ensure the substrate is completely dry and free of any dirt, oil, or grease. Use a degreaser if needed.

Step 2 - Prime: Apply one coat of the Two Pack Epoxy Zinc Rich Primer. For maximum protection, we recommend following with a coat of our Two Pack Epoxy MIO Primer after the Zinc Rich primer.

Step 3 - Topcoat: Once the previous steps are complete, apply your first coat of Two Pack Epoxy Topcoat.

Mixing

Mixing

  • Use a mixer on a slow-running drill or a palette knife on smaller cans to mix the paint and catalyst together. An egg whisk, screwdriver, or small stick that doesn’t reach the bottom of the can is insufficient for proper mixing.
  • Mix for 3-5 minutes, allow to stand for a minute, and then repeat.
  • Combine the catalyst into the can before pouring it into a paint tray.
  • If you are thinning the paint, this is added once the paint has been catalysed.
  • Ensure all components are thoroughly mixed to avoid any colour inconsistencies or drying issues.
