Description

Description

Solvent-Free Epoxy Floor Paint is specially formulated for concrete floors that endure heavy traffic. As the product is solvent free it is great for areas with poor ventilation. Ideal for use in garages, industrial factories, warehouses, industrial kitchens, and shop floors, this paint offers exceptional protection and durability. Its superior chemical resistance ensures longevity even in challenging environments, while also acting as an effective dust sealer for concrete surfaces.

Manufactured with high-quality epoxy resin, our solvent-free epoxy floor paint creates a robust, mirror-like gloss finish once fully dry, enhancing the aesthetics of your space while providing outstanding durability. Upgrade your floors with confidence, knowing they are fortified against wear and tear with our premium solvent-free epoxy floor paint.

Important Notice:

Do not apply two pack epoxy paint in temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, as the cross-linking of the paint and catalyst will not occur, preventing the coating from fully drying.

Please note that the clear version of our Two Pack Epoxy Sealer is not fully translucent. Due to the natural colouring of the resin, it has a slight yellow tinge.

New Concrete Floors

New concrete floors require a curing period, typically ranging from 3-5 months after the floor is laid. This duration can vary based on the thickness and quality of the concrete. It’s advisable to consult with the supplier or fitter regarding the specific waiting time before painting.

Never pre-seal the floor prior to painting, particularly with latex or PVC sealers, as paint will not adhere properly.

Proudly manufactured in England by B.C Paints Ltd. Please note that images and product titles are for advertising purposes only; this product is supplied in BC Paints plain plastic tub.

Application

Application

Painting Over Existing Paint:

Step 1 - Preparation: Check the suitability of the product for the existing paint. It’s recommended to test a sample area first.

Ensure there is good ventilation to allow vapour to escape; if there is no air movement, the coating may not cure properly.

Step 2 - Clean and Abrade:

  • Ensure the existing paint is in good condition before painting.
  • Lightly abrade the surface to create a key for good intercoat adhesion.
  • Any flaking paint must be removed prior to painting.
  • Ensure the substrate is free of any dirt, oil or grease.

Step 4 - Topcoat: Once you have completed the preparation and cleaning steps, you can apply your first coat of topcoat. Start by cutting in around the edges with a 2 or 3-inch brush, then work backwards towards the exit.

For large areas, it’s easier to pour the paint on the floor in stages, spreading it out using a squeegee. Then back roll with a roller to release any trapped air, which helps avoid a bubbly finish during the drying process. After 12-24 hours, apply a second coat.

Painting a Bare Substrate:

Step 1 - Clean: Ensure the substrate is completely dry and free of any dirt, oil, or grease.

Step 2 - Prime: If you are using a product to fill cracks and holes, first prime the area with the same product using a brush. Allow it to set for 1 hour before pouring in additional product until the affected area is filled.

Step 3 - Topcoat: Once the previous steps are complete, apply your first coat of topcoat. Begin by cutting in around the edges with a 2 or 3-inch brush, then work backwards towards the exit. After 12-24 hours, apply a second coat.

For larger areas, it’s easier to pour the paint onto the floor in stages, spreading it out with a squeegee. Then back roll with a roller to release any trapped air, which helps prevent a bubbly finish during the drying process.

Mixing

Mixing

  • Use a mixer on a slow-running drill to mix the paint and catalyst together. An egg whisk, screwdriver, or small stick that doesn’t reach the bottom of the can is insufficient for proper mixing.
  • Mix the catalyst into the paint for 3-5 minutes, allow to stand for a minute, and then repeat.
  • Combine the catalyst into the tub before pouring it into a paint tray.
  • Ensure all components are thoroughly mixed to avoid any colour inconsistencies or drying issues.
