Description

Description

Two Pack Epoxy Fibreglass Primer is a high-performance primer designed to provide a durable finish and excellent adhesion to fibreglass and gelcoat surfaces. Ideal for applications in the marine industry, as well as for swimming pools and ponds, this primer ensures a smooth and long-lasting base for topcoats.

Formulated for superior chemical resistance, the Two Pack Epoxy Fibreglass Primer offers outstanding protection in environments where excessive chemical exposure and environmental challenges are present. Its durable composition effectively shields fibreglass surfaces from moisture, UV rays, and harsh chemicals, making it the perfect choice for both commercial and residential applications.

With its exceptional adhesion properties and robust performance, this epoxy primer enhances the longevity of your fibreglass surfaces, ensuring they remain protected and looking great for years to come.

Important Notice:

Do not apply two pack epoxy paint in temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, as the cross-linking of the paint and catalyst will not occur, preventing the coating from fully drying.

It is also essential to remember that two pack epoxy paints cannot be applied over existing single pack paints, as they will react with them.

Step 1 - Prep: Ensure the substrate is completely dry and free of any dirt, oil, or grease by using a degreaser.

Step 2 - Prime: Apply one coat of the Two Pack Fibreglass Primer.

Step 3 - Topcoat: Once the previous steps are complete, apply your first coat of Two Pack Epoxy top coat within 12-24 hours.

Mixing

Mixing

  • Use a mixer on a slow-running drill or a palette knife on smaller cans to mix the paint and catalyst together. An egg whisk, screwdriver, or small stick that doesn’t reach the bottom of the can is insufficient for proper mixing.
  • Mix for 3-5 minutes, allow to stand for a minute, and then repeat.
  • Combine the catalyst into the can before pouring it into a paint tray.
  • If you are thinning the paint, this is added once the paint has been catalysed.
  • Ensure all components are thoroughly mixed to avoid any colour inconsistencies or drying issues.
